The up-and-coming panel of Pacific Rim at next week's Comic Con has piqued a lot of people's curiosity. Few details have been released on the sci-fi flick that will pit monsters against man and his robots in the quest for world domination.
Not one to disappoint, Entertainment Weekly got their hands on a still from the movie, which shows Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi in suits that look pretty badass. The movie's synopsis promises a lot of action scenes and fighting sequences that will show you how a war of the future against monsters is to be fought.
A war began when legions of Kaiju started rising from the sea. To combat the Kaiju, massive robots, called Jaegers, were devised. On the verge of defeat, mankind has no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro, Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12th and stars Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Max Martini, Willem Dafoe, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr., Diego Klattenhoff, Ron Perlman alongside Hunnam and Kikuchi.
