It's certainly taken long enough, but we finally have some details about the new sci-fi drama from Netflex by the Wachowskis Siblings.
In case you're out of the loop, the show is called Sense8 and was announced a year ago, but we've heard almost nothing about it sense. Also, we no longer call them the Wachowski Brothers because Larry Wachowski is now Lana Wachoski, having transitioned from male to female over the last decade.
Anyway, now that you're all caught up, yes, Netflix will be adding a big-budget science fiction show to its stable of original content. And after an entire year of speculation, we finally know that Sense8 is about eight people scattered around the world who all experience the same violent dream-like vision. Among the eight are a German safe-cracker, an Icelandic party girl, a transgendered American blogger, a closeted Mexican soap opera hunk, a Korean business woman, and an African bus driver. Oh, and there's also some African-American guy with magical powers who appears to each of them...and a bad guy named Mr. Whispers—who is not to be confused with Mr. Whiskers, your neighbor's cat.
Filming begins in June, according to TV Line, and apparently it will take place in Berlin, Chicago, Mexico City, Mumbai, Nairobi, San Francisco, Seoul, and the UK. So like I said, this is a big-budget show. Let's hope it's awesome.
