NBA Playoff Roundup – Spurs Quiet Thunder

Game two of the Western Conference Finals was very well played by both teams, but San Antonio showed Oklahoma City that they're going to have bring their A++ game if they want to win in the Spurs' house.

I'm sure that if OKC coach Scott Brooks knew his big three were going to score 88 points combined, he'd feel pretty good going into the game. Kevin Durant had 31, James Harden dropped 30 and Russell Westbrook had 27, but it wasn't enough as San Antonio dominated throughout the game.

Tony Parker led the Spurs with 34 points, shooting a ridiculous 16-21 from the floor. Manu Ginobili had 20 off the bench, including a rainbow three late in the fourth to effectively end the Thunder's comeback hopes. The other scary stat for OKC was that Tim Duncan only shot 2-11 for 11 points, and the Spurs still owned the game.

With San Antonio holding home court advantage and leading 2-0 going to OKC for games three and four, anything can happen. It won't. San Antonio has won 20 straight games going back into the regular season. They are too deep and too surgical with their game plan to let the Thunder throw them off. Oklahoma City could win both of the next two, but I doubt it. Most likely the Thunder will take one of the two and the series will end in five. It might go six, but no way it goes the full seven games.
