With a big tip of the hat to that man at Kotaku, we bring you word that EA SPORTS' resurrected basketball sim franchise NBA Live 13 has been "effectively delayed, indefinitely." Their word, not ours. The game was shown at E3 2012 and I use that term deliberately because it was in no condition to be played by folks who know sports games. This is after having shown Live 13 to NBA players earlier in the spring. The problem is there's been a lot of silence since June for a game that's supposedly nearing completion, supposedly looking better and better and supposedly has features that fans would want to know all about.
We didn't comment much on the lack of info on NBA Live 13 throughout the summer because until there's something wrong, there's nothing wrong. Typically sports titles have a steady drumbeat of trailers, screens and info available before launch, but even EA SPORTS isn't above deciding to keep things tightly under wraps because of the mystery and excitement that tactic can generate. Head over to Kotaku for Owen Good's piece because it's juicy and a continuation of a growing story they've been running down for weeks.
