It is always a great idea to wear bright colors when at the beach, in my opinion, for no other reason than safety. Sure, there are other bonus reasons that tag along, but safety is the prime concern. Being attractive already means that most eyes are going to be on Jocelyn, so that is a great level of safety right there. It guarantees a fast response time if, God forbid, she gets herself into a drowning situation.
The rest of us cannot rely on that. Most of our beach bodies went into hiding the day after we left school, so that means most people will avoid looking at us on the beach, but when wearing bright colors you will naturally draw the human eye to you. Just make sure the color is not too reflective, you could end up blinding someone and that would be counterproductive.
So take Jocelyn’s lead and be attractive. If that fails then the fallback is to wear bright colors. No longer will you have to fear the riptide. Who needs a lifeguard on duty when you can easily turn all beachgoers into instant Olympic caliber swimmers?
