Lately a lot of the talk has been about the many free agency moves that have been going on in the NBA. Teams that found themselves on the short end of the stick last season are trying to become one of the 'haves' rather than a 'have not.' If any of them want to see how it is done all they need to do is take a page out of the Minnesota Wild's playbook.

Yea, that's right. They need to take tips from a hockey team.

The Minnesota Wild finished in 12th place in the Western Conference last season, 14 points back of the No 8 seed and Stanley Cup Champions, the Los Angeles Kings. It's been four seasons since the Wild have seen the post season. If that trend was going to be stopped next season something needed to be done.

Well, the ownership certainly stepped up and did it.

The Wild have snatched up the two best free agents on the market in Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter and former New Jersey Devils captain Zach Parise. It might have cost them close to $200 million (196 to be exact), but in the process they have locked up two of the games best players for the next 13 years.

So if there are any NBA owners out there wondering how to handle free agency, just take a look at the Wild, and well--go wild.
