You’re officially a bad man when you’ve successfully managed to upset Batman’s butler. Michael Caine is completely over and done with Woody Allen. Which is interesting because there wasn’t a person unaware of what Woody had going on in his life. But for some reason in the wake of Harvey Weinstein’s fall from graceful grab ass, everyone became inspired to pick a side. There’s no more grey area and every actor must take a stance. You’re either on the side of justice or you support sexual assault with your silence. Even if Dylan Farrow never saw Allen's woody everyone in Hollywood is erring on the side of caution.
Michael Caine said he would not work with the director again after hearing that Dylan Farrow, his adopted daughter, had accused him of sexually abusing her as a child. “I am a patron of the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) and have very strong views about pedophilia,” Cain said. “I can’t come to terms with it, because I loved Woody and had a wonderful time with him. I even introduced him to Mia. I don’t regret working with him, which I did in complete innocence; but I wouldn’t work with him again, no.” The film veteran once told the Daily Telegraph about pedophiles: “If you want to bring back hanging for them, then I’m your man. I’ll pull the lever.”
Michael also stated that because he dismissed the Weinstein rumor and it ended up being true that he could not miss the train when it came to Allen. Hopefully he doesn’t treat his stocks the same way, definitely strikes me as a man that would sell too early based on hearsay and emotions. Luckily there was enough room still on the “screw Woody” bandwagon. Caine sits comfortably somewhere next to Timothée Chalamet, David Krumholtz, Griffin Newman, Mira Sorvino, Greta Gerwig, Natalie Portman, Reese Witherspoon, and a slew of others. The talent available for Woody to cast for films has been reduced down to about two people. And one of them happens to be Tara Reid because pedophilia allegations won’t stop her payday. She’s desperate and a woman who thinks for herself. Allen’s pretty much done in the industry unless he wants to direct Sharknado 7.
