Do you miss Breaking Bad? Of course you do! That show was friggin' amazing. Who doesn't love a show about a chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin? But, alas, all good things come to an end. That is, unless you can speak Spanish. Univision's sister station UniMas has begun showing a series called Metastasis which is based on Breaking Bad. It follows the adventures of Walter Blanco and his sidekick Jose as he tries to make a nest egg for his family after a cancer diagnosis. It's basically exactly like Breaking Bad only it takes place in Colombia instead of New Mexico. I've seen the first episode and it's pretty good for a telenovela remake. But unlike most telenovelas it doesn't have many women screaming about being pregnant with their godfather's son or whatever.

It would be easy to dismiss Metastasis as a crappy remake of a really great show. But it's really not crappy at all. I was ready to hate on it and it's actually pretty good. My mom is watching the story for the first time because she can better understand what's going on in Spanish. If you speeky di Spanish, I very much recommend it.
