Meghan Markle Failing At Being A Royal Snob

Titles are titles, they don’t necessarily by default fully define the person that is attached to them. Whether Meghan Markle has finally upgraded to the Empress of Earth or lives out the remainder of her life as the Duchess of Sussex, she’s still, by DNA, an LA chick. And LA women are a different breed altogether. They’re not designed to enjoy morning crumpets, afternoon tea, and all of the other puzzling activities that the Brits partake in. The market cap for royalty in Los Angeles ends at the red carpet. The hot one from Suits seemed to forget that she’s now so important that she shouldn’t be shutting her own car door.

Meghan Markle may be the Duchess of Sussex, but she’s hardly a typical princess. While arriving at the Royal Academy of Art in London to view the art exhibit “Oceania” on Tuesday in her first-ever solo outing, Meghan broke protocol in a subtle way. After shaking hands with one of her hosts for the evening, Meghan casually shut the car door and headed inside.

“First time I’ve seen an on-duty princess shut her own car door…” wrote one Twitter user.

The Sun‘s royal correspondent Emily Andrews added, “A princess who still takes the time to shut her car door. Well done Meghan!”

One can only imagine the amount of MeToo skeletons that Meghan is keeping in her closet to rise from struggling actress to an authentic princess. If Rose McGowan dined on Harvey Weinstein oysters with a side of trouser sourced truffle butter just for a role in Grindhouse, imagine what Markle has done to wear a crown.

Meghan, 37, proved she doesn’t mind helping out on her wedding day, when she pulled a romantic gesture as she and Prince Harry hopped in a Jaguar convertible to head to their evening reception. After Harry, 33, opened the door and helped his bride into the passenger seat, Meghan reached over to make sure his door was unlocked.

So Markle reenacts a scene from A Bronx Tale in real life and suddenly the world should stop to watch? Her prestigious position as Prince Harry’s penis holster is just a title. She wasn’t raised with privilege, she snatched it in a plot twist like her life was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Her shutting her own car door just reminds us of a simpler time, when Meghan was more likely to sit on a casting couch than a royal throne.
