If you were hoping to meet a soft-spoken rock monster with a Kiwi accent at some point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Ragnarok will finally satiate your oddly specific needs. Director Taika Waititi steps in front of the camera to bring life to Korg, a mo-cap creation with an incongruously hilarious look and voice. Big rock monster, tiny little Peter Jackson voice. Hilarious!
Chris Hemsworth brought this new clip by the Jimmy Kimmel Show last night, so sadly the movie clip is only the first thirty seconds of the above video. The rest of it is spent with Hemsworth and Kimmel jawing about the movie, which is fine because Hemsworth is a pretty charming dude. It's easy for men to hate someone like him for being impossibly good looking and talented and funny, but like Jon Hamm and Channing Tatum before him, it's best not to resist his charms.
We're just over three weeks away from Thor: Ragnarok hitting theaters, so you can expect more stuff like this to trickle out over the next three weeks. Hopefully there's more Korg in the movie itself, and I'm sure there will be five more minutes of riffing from this scene on the eventual DVD release. I say, keep it coming!
