As we know, Mortal Kombat tournaments are a rough business. This is the only sport that employs twenty different guys with mops and buckets to sweep up tendons after each bout, after all. This isn't some wussy, girly, let's wear scarves our grandmas knitted us game like... soccer. You're playing with the big boys, right here, and they don't eff around.
Only the craziest, homicidal-est mothers are invited to the Mortal Kombat party. Recently, Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorrhees and the Predator became playable characters. When they feel right at home, it probably tells you all you need to know about the kind of guys we're dealing with here.
So what can we expect from the new Kombatant on the block, Tremor? More uber-violence, more impalement and a craptacular pun or two about groundbreaking new characters (don't go thinking that block comment was an accident, either), that's what.
This spangly new warrior is now available in Mortal Kombat X, a ninja/golem sort of guy who is to the Earth as Sub-Zero is to ice. Natch, those element-manipulating powers are mighty useful when it comes to laying the smack down, and Tremor's doing that in style here. Not only can he sass with the best of them during character intros, he's got some as-inventive-as-they-are-freaking-horrible new fatalities and brutalities. Check them out, in this clip from IGN:
