The Mission: Impossible franchise is one of the rare film series that has actually gotten better as it's gone along. Sort of, I guess. Brian De Palma's first film is a decent action adventure flick, John Woo's second is an unwatchable nightmare, J.J. Abrams' third flick is good, Brad Bird's fourth flick is great, and Christopher McQuarrie's fifth film is probably my favorite of the series.
This means hopes are high for this month's Mission: Impossible—Fallout, which will be the first film in the series to be directed by someone that's already made one of the films. Writer/director Christopher McQuarrie is back at the helm, and the stakes appear to be higher than they've ever been before.
This new featurette spotlights the team that Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt relies on to complete these impossible missions. Rebecca Ferguson's Ilsa is back from Rogue Nation, as is Simon Pegg's Benji, who was introduced in the third film, and rounding out the crew is Ving Rhames' Luther, who joins Cruise as the only actors to appear in all six films.
We also get some background info on Henry Cavill's August Walker, whose impossibly expensive mustache cost Justice League its respectability. It's gonna be one hell of a ride when Mission: Impossible—Fallout hits theaters on July 27.
