I don't buy performance art as a viable form of art. I know that art is a subjective thing and that what is art to one person is just a bunch of crap to someone else. I, for example, love the paintings of Mark Rothko but my wife thinks it's bullcrap. But performance art is all a bunch of psuedointellectual crap. It's pretentious people doing stuff that no one wants to see. I can't abide pretension. In this piece called "Meat Beat" a sexy woman in lingerie gets slapped by a bunch of different types of meat and fish. What's the point? I don't know. I don't know that there is a point. I think it's just something stupid to do that will call attention to itself.
Basically, what I'm saying is that performance artists are mostly girls that are prone to attention seeking behavior. Their dads didn't pay enough attention to them when they were little so now they get slapped around by meat.
