TV & FILM

I'll go ahead and say it, if nobody else will. 2017 has been the best year for comic book movies on record. We got the mostly fantastic Logan back in March, the fun and similarly fantastic Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the equally fun and amazing Wonder Woman, and then the best Spider-Man movie ever made in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League have a lot to live up to.
In honor of Spidey swinging onto Digital HD today—the DVD and Blu-ray follow on October 17—Sony and Marvel have decided to put the first ten minutes of the film online. If you haven't seen the film, allow this to be a great teaser for the fun to come. If you have seen the film, relive the fantastic opening moments that set up both our villain and our hero in quick succession.
It's gonna be tough come the end of the year to pick my favorite comic book movie, but if I'm being honest, I'm leaning toward Spider-Man: Homecoming. Maybe it's just because my expectations were so low and I felt like we didn't need another Spider-Man movie, but I walked out of it feeling like it was one of the best comic book movies I'd ever seen.
