Whatever else you want to say about Marvel Studios, they have done an absolutely astonishing job of keeping the lid on their upcoming Avengers: Infinity War follow-up which we now finally know is titled Avengers: Endgame. This first trailer isn't as epic in scope as any of us may have wanted it to be, but as our first taste of what's to come, it's pretty bleak looking.
If you've been following the rumors and "leaks" about this first trailer, you will know that every single prediction about what it's going to be that has come down the pike since this past April was completely and totally false. Whether the Russo Brothers and Marvel are deliberately spreading misinformation to throw people off the scent or maniacs are just making stuff up whole cloth, this looks and feels nothing like what any of those rumors promised.
There's a feeling of huge, heavy loss in this trailer, and all of our main characters are clearly not at their lowest point yet because they're all approaching it. It's a dour, downer of a trailer that only teases at a huge adventure to come, and I'm okay with that. Hell, I'm fine if this is the only trailer we get for this. It's not like people need to be persuaded to see it.
Avengers: Endgame will release in April, 2019, more than likely the last Friday of the month, and will shatter every box office record that has ever existed that weekend.
