Now, there are a lot of things that come hand in hand with being a rapper. Rapping's a pretty big one; you've got to expect a little of that. Then there are things like a badass stage name, usually to disguise the fact that your actual birth name is a bit shit (Ice-T being born Tracey Lauren Marrow, for instance). Baggy pants, groupies, a gun-totin' ‘crew,' all this is stuff is crucial.

You know what isn't expected of rappers? Super elite gaming skills, that's what. Some of them are blessed with such, like gamer guru Snoop D.O. double G, but that's a rare thing. So when Lupe Fiasco took on pro gamer Daigo Umehara, we were expecting it all to go pretty freaking badly for Lupe.

The whole thing took a fair bit of arrangement between Daigo's sponsor, Mad Catz, and Fiasco's homies (yep, I speak the language), but it went ahead. The match took place at the launch party for Street Fighter V, and it was quite a show.

Neither of the fighters had too much experience with the spangly new game, natch. Dicking about with the new mechanics for an hour or so isn't really going to cut it. But this wasn't a tournament final with thousands of dollars on the line. This was… well, Daigo letting his raptastic foe win, by the looks of it. But still, win he did.

Check out the epic battle below.
