The Lindsey Lohan erotic thriller The Canyons is coming (tee-hee) to theaters this summer. IFC, for reasons that make no sense to anyone, purchased the movie for an undisclosed amount. The low budget flick looked like it would never get a theatrical release. The film, which was inexplicably directed by Paul Schrader and written by Bret Easton Ellis, was universally panned by those that have seen it. Sundance wouldn't touch it and SXSW rejected it because it had an "ugliness and a deadness to it." Lohan stars as a woman caught up in an erotic mystery or something. It doesn't really matter. She co-stars with Paul Deen, a real life porn star. The shoot was reportedly a nightmare, with Lohan acting like a flaky diva, (ya don't say?), and constantly fighting with Schrader. I for one can't wait to see this movie. It's going to be sooooo terrible. We'll bring you our review as soon as we behold this abomination.
