Since it was announced that Michael Bay would produce a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake, there has been no shortage of bitching from fanboys and causal fans alike. As with any reboot, that sort of reaction is to be expected, and adding a divisive guy like Bay to the mix only added to it. And to be fair, I think people might be looking at the old TMNT films through rose-tinted glasses. After all, it's not like Secret of the Ooze was winning all the Oscars.
That said, people tend to cherish their childhood memories, and for many, letting Michael Bay near the franchise was worse than a war crime. But up until now, regardless of how you felt, everything has been speculation. This trailer changes all that. Now people have something they can actually criticize or defend, even if the film is still a ways off.
I personally didn't freak out when I heard Bay was producing, mainly because I don't care! But after watching the CGI during the trailer's snow scene, I'm a lot more sympathetic to people who were concerned.
