Ang Lee's track record is a little all over the place. First he gives us Hulk and then Brokeback Mountain. And his lastest movie, a 3-D adaptation of the book Life of Pi looks to be a combination of the two: Big, dramatic visuals with a small, intimate story. The newly released international trailer gives you a sense of the grand scale of the film and also belongs in a double feature with Castaway under the header of 'films that make me an agoraphobic.'
Pi is a 16 year old boy who is the only person to survive the sinking of a freighter. He finds himself on a lifeboat with an orangutan, hyena, a wounded zebra, and a Bengal tiger.
Life of Pi cruises into theaters November 21st.
