If there's one man who's kept busy these last few years, it's Liam Neeson. Fresh from Battleship and the up-and-coming Taken 2, Neeson has just signed on to star in the film adaptation of Lawrence Block's A Walk Among Tombstones.
In keeping with the theme of Neeson's recent flicks, A Walk Among Tombstones is an action thriller where he takes on the role of Matt Scudder, a former NYPD cop who's hired by a drug dealer to hunt down the kidnappers who took and killed his wife.
Scudder is an unlicensed private eye and recovering alcoholic who operates just outside the boundaries of law to get to the criminals. As he proceeds with the case, he discovers that the culprits are involved in multiple kidnappings and brutal murders. And that's where all the action begins.
Writer and director Scott Frank, whose previous works include Get Shorty, Minority Report, and The Interpreter, will be directing the movie.
We feel like we won the trifecta by getting the one star who is perfect for Scott's great script that he was born to direct.
-- Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, Double Feature Films partners
Filming for A Walk Among Tombstones is scheduled to begin next February on location in New York City.
