MGM's Robocop remake was already on shaky ground before the above photo was leaked from the set. Early reviews of a leaked script were pretty harsh to say the least and left many dumbfounded and baffled by the direction the studio was taking with the project with The Killing's Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy/Robocop.
The new suit, which is apparently one of many upgrades made throughout the movie, which was spotted on set over the weekend looks like a combination of Iron Man and Judge Dredd, or, no, maybe it's Tron Legacy and Dark Knight. Whichever one it is, the point is it's less than original and hardly seems an exciting development in a film that no one was particularly all that excited for in the first place.
The one thing fans look forward to when another reboot or remake starts its long journey through production is what the 'new suit' will look like. Everyone gets excited when they finally see how their favorite characters will look for the 21st Century. And with higher budgets and better technology, no matter how bad the movie, generally the costumes are almost always just as good as the original if not better.
Whether or not Robocop turns out to be box office gold with whatever Joel Kinnaman is squeezed into, here are reboots that got the costumes right.
