TV & FILM

Once upon a time, certain comic book characters were deemed too obscure to be the villains in a major comic book motion picture, let alone headline their own film, but those days are long gone. Sony is desperate to make money off of the few comic book properties they have left, and have begun giving third-tier Spider-Man characters like Morbius the Living Vampire their own films.
Their latest hail mary shot at relevance is the announcement that Spider-Man villain Kraven the Hunter will be getting his own movie. As initially reported by Collider, Sony has hired The Equalizer scribe Richard Wenk to bring the big game hunter to the big screen. This guy's imdb credits feature some of the worst movies of the last few years like Jack Reacher 2, The Expendables 2, and the utterly unnecessary remakes of The Mechanic and The Magnificent Seven.
What are you guys over at Sony doing? Pulling names of characters out of a hat? Even with Venom getting his own Spider-Man-less movie, there's absolutely no reason to give another villain his own film, particularly one who relies rather heavily on his interactions with the web slinger. Just keeping chucking shit against the wall and hope that it sticks, I suppose.
If and when this movie happens, whom would you like to see play Kraven? Sound off in the comments section below.
