If you've ever seen a Bong Joon-ho film, you know that he loves weaving social commentary with singularly unique visions of a fantastical world just slightly askew from our own. Since his last film—Snowpiercer—was seen by most people thanks to its availability on Netflix, the director returns to the streaming service for his latest film, Okja

The film reunites the director with his Snowpiercer star Tilda Swinton, and adds the likes of Lily Collins, Shirley Henderson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Paul Dano into the mix for a film about the fictitious titular creature that looks like a cross between a pig, a hippo, and a dog. It certainly looks a lot more lovable than his last creature from his 2007 film The Host, but no less polarizing as multiple factions fight to use the creature as a symbol of their cause. Sure, the symbolism is laid on pretty thick, but American audiences really love things to be spelled out for them.

If you're not up to date on his filmography, I would recommend checking out both Snowpiercer and The Host, just to get an idea of what we might be in for with this flick, which premieres on Netflix June 28.
