How many licks does it take to get to the center of Kim Kardashian? If you're lucky you'll never know. But how many ads for weight-loss lollipops does it take to land a hooker in hot water? Just one apparently, because after Kardashian endorsed Flat Tummy Co. anti-lard pops in an Insta post, everyone came for her, forcing her to delete the pic. The Kardashian Insta empire is built on girdles and herbal tea laxatives, but sure, this is the line that shouldn't be crossed.
Among the hundreds of Insta watchdogs with rich personal lives who called out Kardashian for the one thing she's ever done to not be a good role model for young girls (the one thing, ever) was The Good Place star Jameela Jamil. She happens to be very attractive, so I'm going to automatically side with her because it's the easiest thing to do. And this girl does not give a shit, which is cool. In response to seeing Kardashian suck on something besides rapper peen for the first time in her life, Jamil tweeted:
No. Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls. I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to.
And added:
MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends. And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than “I had a flat stomach.”
Kardashian's initial since-deleted Instagram caption read:
You guys… @flattummyco just dropped a new product. They’re Appetite Suppressant Lollipops and they’re literally unreal. They’re giving the first 500 people on their website 15% OFF so if you want to get your hands on some… you need to do it quick! #suckit.
You guys. Literally unreal? Well put me down for fifty of them. Mashable points out that the NIH neither endorses nor condemns the main ingredient behind the lollipops, stating that the "saffron stigma" can "reduce snacking and enhance satiety [and] contribute to weight loss." But odds are Kardashian would have pimped the pops even if they were laced with arsenic. Which, would have really snuffed out the problem at its source. Hey Kardashian I have a new product for you to try.
