Matthew Vaughn's 2010 action adventure Kick-Ass was a sweary cavalcade of blood, guts and death with Chloe Moretz's Hit-Girl stealing the show. Upon it's release it built up a cult audience rather than setting the box office alight. However a sequel was soon ordered none the less.
The comic book creator from which the movie was adapted, Mark Millar, has repeatedly stated that the sequel was in pre-production but there finally seems to have been some movement from Universal, who have looked to Cry Wolf director Jeff Wadlow to head the project.
Of course, the original film was directed by Matthew Vaughn but he has had to pull out to work on X-Men : First Class 2.
Yet each of the original's stars including Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are expected to return. There is no word on the plot of the sequel but no doubt it'll involve plenty of debauchery. And we can't wait.
