At one point in her life Kathy Griffin was kind of funny, but in the decades since, she’s done a bang-up job of making herself more of a punch line than she could ever land on stage. This past May Griffin delivered searing and thoughtful commentary on the current White House administration by posing for a photo while clutching the severed head of Donald Trump. It really stops and makes you think. About how stupid she is. Naturally Griffin faced a backlash from conservatives while liberal celebrities acted like they had never heard of her before or associated with her in any way. And to be fair most hadn’t.

Griffin has spent the better part of a year clawing her way back into the good graces of America, and her woke redemption now includes offering Ryan Seacrest’s sexual assault beard, Suzie Hardy, a job as her stylist. Looking like a seventy-year-old trans Carrot Top takes a lot of effort. E! News kept Seacrest on the payroll after the allegations went public – a move almost unheard of in the industry – and the network even had him chat up the four people who would talk to him on the Oscars red carpet. Griffin saw this acceptance of a serial rapist (probably, there’s no proof yet but who cares) as an opportunity to make a splash by really GOING THERE on Twitter:

Hey Suzie Hardy, I will do for you that which no one did for me after May 30. After you were brave enough to speak out I’m happy to offer you a job as my stylist to dress me this week for Jimmy Kimmel and Real Time & I’ll PAY you. What ya think? KG #Oscars

I’m sure Hardy is thrilled to be forever associated with one of the most disliked people in Hollywood. This was a way for Griffin to plug her gigs and to interject herself into a conversation that has nothing to do with her in order to maximize exposure. Rose McGowan, you’ve met your match.
