Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler sounds like a new man one week into the NFL season. Now that he's got his old buddy Brandon Marshall on the outside, Cutler's confidence in his offense appears higher than ever. With division rival Green Bay in his sights for tomorrow night's showdown at Lambeau, Cutler said 'good luck' to the Packers' defensive backs if they want to get physical.
We've got some dudes that, if you're gonna get up in their face, even our speed guys are gonna get around them, and our big guys are gonna throw and go.
I like it. Cutler has reason to feel good now that he actually has a full complement of weapons. The Packers gave up 211 yards passing and two receiving touchdowns to Alex Smith and San Francisco in Sunday's loss.
The Packers are in danger of falling to 0-2 after going 15-1 last season. The way Cutler was talking to ESPN Chicago, the Bears sound like they're ready to challenge for the division crown. Part of that comes from what Cutler called a 'new energy' thanks to new offensive coordinator, Mike Tice.
I think there's a big difference in what we're doing offensively. This is a totally different scheme and mentality and direction of where we're going offensively," Cutler said. "But we have to be careful. We've only played one game. We don't have a lot on tape yet, so we've got to continue to work hard.
It should be a great game tomorrow night as the NFL implements a season long schedule of Thursday night games, this is going to be a hell of a way to start them off.
