Jason Statham Might Star In A Monster Shark Movie Called Meg

We are big fans of Sharknado here at Egotastic. That's because it is awesome. But it is a really really really crappy movie, which is what makes it so fun to watch. It's low budget, has bad actors, and a ludicrous script. But what would happen if you quadrupled the budget at least and cast really famous action stars instead of washed up stars of 90's teen sitcoms? Then you'd get Meg which looks like it might star Jason Statham. What is Meg? It's short for megalodon, which is a giant prehistoric shark-like creature that was the ancestor of the modern shark. It has been extinct for millions of years, but whatever. It is based on a novel by Steve Alten called Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror about two hunters that go after a megalodon. Statham would play one of these two hunters. The film also looks like it will be directed by National Treasure director Jon Turteltaub.

I'm not saying that this movie is a rip-off of Sharknado and Jaws...no, it totally is. It sounds pretty dumb. Frankly, I'd rather watch Avalanche Sharks
