Production for The Wolverine has finally begun and we've got a few short clips above to prove it!

It's been a week since concept and set photos from The Wolverine hit (they looked amazing and intriguing, by the way). The images gave fans who were eagerly waiting for the sequel to X-Men Origines: Wolverine their first look at the movie, but more importantly, it also provided a few clues as to the movie's plot.

Wolverine himself, aka Hugh Jackman was pretty excited about the whole thing and took to Twitter to confirm that shooting for The Wolverine had finally begun:

We're on day 1 of shooting. Wolverine is back... feel so pumped about this one... never felt so ready!!!! will keep y'all posted!!!

The entire cast and crew of The Wolverine have been tight-lipped about the movie, but that's to be expected at this stage of production. That hasn't stopped the rumors from flowing, though.

There's speculation that the movie might be set in World War 2, where Logan will be traveling to Japan to uncover his identity. He'll draw swords (or is it claws?) with the Silver Samurai and maybe face off with the Viper as well, who's portrayed by the gorgeous Svetlana Khodchenkova.
