It’s Not ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Anymore, It’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

At long last, the upcoming Man of Steel sequel starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Gigli as Batman has an official title. We no longer have to call it Batman vs. Superman the way we've been doing since the movie was announced last year.

I must say, though, that the new title is pretty out there. It's Batman v Superman, so like they totally just dropped the "s" and the period in the abbreviation for "versus" like they were never even there.

Wild, right?

Oh, and there's a subtitle, too. The whole thing is Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice—as in dawn of the Justice League, the new superhero movie franchise that Warner Brothers hopes will make them billions for the next decade.

The studio made the official announcement today, officially giving the Dark Knight top billing and dropping that sweet new BVS logo on us. Filming is currently underway in Detroit and will eventually take the cast to Africa and the South Pacific...and Illinois. (Très exotique!)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters May 6, 2016.
