Anne Hathaway looked pretty smoking at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises the other night. Check out these pictures if you don't believe me. Actually, you should probably check them out anyway because they're quite superb.
And it seems like her appearance as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises is set to propel her to a brand new level of super-stardom with the film's director Christopher Nolan even stating that her performance as this 'incredible character' will leave audiences wanting more.
Nolan continued, "Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She's really built it from the ground up, it's just a delight to watch her perform." When asked whether that could mean a future Catwoman movie the English filmmaker added, "For me, Gotham and these characters, I'm done. I've told our story and I'm moving on (but) I certainly think she deserves it - she's incredible."
So, might there a new Catwoman movie in the near future? If they do decide to go down this creative avenue, here are a few cinematic spin-off catastrophes that they should look to learn from.
Evan Almighty - Spun off from Jim Carrey's surprisingly successful Bruce Almighty, the Dumb and Dumber star was replaced by Steve Carell. But even his stellar comedic chops couldn't save this tepid, dull and ridiculously religious spinoff.
The Scorpion King - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is now a credible action star, kind of, but at the beginning of his foray into the world of cinema it was impossible not to laugh at his thespian attempts. The Scorpion King played like a straight to DVD movie and it's a surprise that Dwayne was even able to get his career off the ground in it's wake.
Get Him To The Greek - Jonah Hill's character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a loveable loser whose adulation for Russell Brand's rock star was pretty amusing for a few scenes. But for an entire movie, it quickly became stale.
Catwoman - Let's not forget that Halle Berry, fresh from her Oscar victory, has already attempted to bring the world of Selina Kyle to the big screen and failed miserably in doing so. A catastrophe in every sense of the world, Halle's career has never really recovered since.
