Earlier today we got a glimpse of Benedict Cumberbatch as the new Trek villain (or at least his back) in the poster for Star Trek into Darkness and now we get a crazy Kryptonian dropkick to the face with the shocking new poster for next summer's Man of Steel showing us Henry Cavill as Supes being escorted by some military personnel in handcuffs. What did Superman do to get himself arrested? Did he pull a Winona Ryder and get caught shoplifting, earning him the new nickname Man of Steal? Will the film evoke Superman III and have a drunk Clark Kent end up in a deadly DUI after smashing a bar mirror with peanuts hurled at super speed? Probably not. But so, so many questions raised now.
But you've got to wonder what director Zach Snyder has in store for the Man of Steel if he ends up in chains that can hold him. My interest in the movie from this single image just shot up faster than a speeding bullet. And again, like Trek, the next trailer for Man of Steel will appear before The Hobbit, and after the teaser that was dropped on us before Dark Knight Rises, chances are this one will give us more of a glimpse of the plot and characters--Personally I can't wait to see how Michael Shannon tackled the role of Zod.
You can see the poster in full below.
