What started out as an April Fool's joke is now a reality. Last year, ThinkGeek fooled a whole bunch of people with a fake product called the 'iCade 8-Bitty' controller. They were probably hammered with thousands of emails from vintage gaming addicts who demanded that they make it real--and make it real they did.
The iCade 8-Bitty is basically a wireless controller that connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth so you could play old school games with ease. I recently tried my hand at a couple of old NES games that I played back when I was a kid and it was hard as hell to play using the on-screen controls. Needless to say, I gave up after I couldn't get past the first stage of Gradius and Arkanoid.
The good thing is that the iCade 8-Bitty works with iOS and Android devices, so no one misses out on the fun. Although if you ask me, it's easier to get emulators and ROMs on Android because of its more open system. Check out the video above to see the controller in action!
