The Martian alone would have cost the people of Earth $200 billion dollars. That rescue mission during WWII would have been $100k in back then money.

What I'm saying is that I'm tired of Matt Damon being a drain on the economy. My hard earned tax dollars are mostly what's paying for all these attempts to save him from certain death. What have we ever gotten in return? Bringing down a secret government organization in the Bourne movies? Not worth it. Plus there is the cost in human life. Tom Hanks died trying to save him.
