Hockey is, as we know, one of the most man-tastic sports ever devised. When players become pissed at each other mid-match, what do they do? Arrange for a gentlemanly duel at a later date, pistols at dawn, so their disagreement can be resolved with honor and valor and all that BS? Followed by tea and crumpets being served on the lawn?
No. No they don't. ‘Eff that. This isn't Merry Old England, and these guys don't even know what in holy hell ‘crumpets' actually are. And they're too busy punching each others' manly, bearded faces right in the face to care.
Kotaku reports on one particular slugfest at the Habs/Stars game last Thursday, in which opposing wingers Travis Moen and Antoine Roussel had a heated discussion. In the language of angry fists. Some wag at the American Airlines Arena chose this moment to play Guile's Theme over the PA, thereby proving that it does indeed go with anything.
Nary a Sonic Boom or Flash Kick was thrown, sadly, but the Street Fighter stalwart probably approved of this little joke anyway. At the same match, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! got a similar piss-takey reference. You know you want to get the full story, which you can find at the link above.
