Hans Zimmer is one of the most successful and respected film score composers of all-time. The guy has scored such films as The Lion King, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, and Inception. He's been nominated for eight Oscars, and he's taken home the golden naked dude once. However, can you hum a single Hans Zimmer theme? Go ahead. Try it. And no, "Circle of Life" doesn't count. Elton John wrote that.
Yeah, it's hard, isn't it? All I could come up with was the "dooooo dooooo" from Inception, and that's just two notes. So Zimmer is great, but he's no John Williams—and he knows it. That's why he says he procrastinated for three months before finally sitting down to compose the score for the new Superman movie, Man of Steel.
However, now Zimmer is all done and Amazon has released samples, which one industrious person pieced together and uploaded to YouTube. Have a listen, and see what you think.
