There are entirely too many famous Australian people in this new ad for the totally fake movie Dundee for anyone to hold on to the delusion that this thing is real any longer. In the old days one might have thought, well there just simply aren't enough jokes in this premise to support a feature length film, but that hasn't concerned Hollywood for decades. To be honest, I'm more than a little surprised this isn't real.
I mean, it's got a lot going for it that Hollywood loves these days: Franchise nostalgia, big name cameos, and a premise that's sure to wear thin almost instantly. One can almost hear Jack and Jill Middleamerica in the theater now, "Look dear, the hillbilly man is talking to the tribal man about jazz music! Where do they come up with this stuff?"
Thankfully this isn't going to be an actual movie. Word on the street is that it's part of an Australian tourism campaign that's launching during this year's Super Bowl. I imagine they're keeping Paul Hogan under wraps until then, otherwise, what's the point of any of this?
So yeah, watch the trailer for a movie that's never going to happen starring a whole bunch of people—and Liam Hemsworth—who have better things to do than star in a Crocodile Dundee reboot. Or do they?????
