CELEBRITY
Sam Robeson - October 19, 2018
Gigi Hadid is the latest celebrity working to convince us that being rich, famous, and pretty in that brain-dead bulimic whore kind of way isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, as a highly sought-after celebrity, she's - and this is really going to shock you guys - a victim. Starting a celebrity victim charity right now. Donate at gofuckme.com. Hadid is being sued for using a licensed paparazzi picture of herself on Instagram. While the image has since been removed, the affront awoke feelings of resentment towards celebrity culture deep within Hadid's big brain. As a brand rep and Instagram prostitute, she strives to be a product meant for consumption. Yet the medium for consumption that's been around for decades - paparazzi photography - troubles her. Greatly:
These people make money off us everyday, LEGALLY stalking us day in and day out. All this to say that it is not spoken about enough the mental/emotional toll that this kind of press has on people, days I (& countless others) have stayed inside because I just don’t want my photo taken.
For someone to take a situation where I was trying to be open, and sue me for a photo I FOUND ON TWITTER (with no photographers name on the image), for a photo he has already been paid for by whatever outlet put it online (!!!), is absurd…if the person had just commented on my photo I would have been happy to tag and give credit.
Watch out everyone. Big fat brain alert. For the record, money needs to exchange hands in order for someone to be paid. Simply tagging or giving credit to a photographer on social media does not contribute to his lavish $15K a year lifestyle. If everyone reused the same picture after only one site purchased it legitimately, the photographer would get pretty much nothing. We pay sites like Getty Images and Backgrid for use of their photos. And if we can afford it, Gigi Hadid definitely can. She continues about not quite understanding how the sausage gets made:
To the paparazzi, I understand that this is how you make your living and I respect that this is something I must accept with my job. But there is a line. We are human beings, and sometimes it a lot of courage to engage with you because of the resentment I feel for the negative parts of these experiences
Trouble, oh trouble move away. I have seen your face. And it's too much for me today. I'm serious. We need to pool our resources to protect this courageous human being. Head to gofundme.com/bulimicwhore for details.
