Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been locked up in jail for 12 days, but his lawyer has filed an emergency motion to get Floyd moved to house arrest because apparently Mayweather is deteriorating rapidly. It seems being locked away for 23 hours a day is taking a major toll on Mayweather's body and he fears he may never box again if he doesn't get out of the can quickly. Floyd is being kept away from the general population because of his celeb status.
The Las Vegas Review Journal says even Mayweather's doctor is on board with this appeal, and an affidavit included in the motion states that remaining in jail in these conditions will jeopardize Mayweather's chances of ever fighting again.
I find that hard to believe. Do a quick Google search for boxers making comebacks after prison, and there are plenty of stories, and those guy did years. Floyd has 75 days left. He should be in good enough shape to handle it. Of course house arrest sounds better, when you can just be in your big ass house getting pedicures, so I can't blame the guy for trying.
