Five Nights at Freddy’s, huh? This mothereffer, much like Leatherface, Jason or any other horror icon, cannot and will not be stopped. One-man development team Scott Cawthon is loving this cash cow, and will suckle on its sweet, sweet dollar-filled teats ‘til they can be suckled on no more.
By this point, anyone experienced in all things gaming/YouTube will know the deal with Freddy’s. It’s a simple enough jump scare-athon, centred around the animatronic nasties that haunt a fast food joint at night. It’s the perfect fare for Internet ‘entertainers’ to howl like orgasming orangutans at on their webcams.
Damn popular it is, too, which is why we’ve seen spin-off RPGs, a kindle book and all that sort of business based on the series. Our next slice of Freddy will be Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location, a side story from the main franchise. Cawthon just announced this one a month back, and in typical fast-as-holy-hell fashion, already has some gameplay for us to ogle.
That classic series atmosphere is present and correct, but we’re doing things a little differently here. The game’s set deep underground, in a bunker of some sort, and it looks like or character’s going to be mobile and directly controllable for the first time. Check it out.
Sister Location is set to hit some time this fall.
