Finally, We Know What The Hell The Deal Is With ‘Paragon’

Damn it, Paragon. You were one mysterious mothereffer for a while there.

The latest game from Epic, the Gears of War guys, was announced back in early November. Following that, there was a series of weekly trailers dedicated to it, all to stoke the fires of the Hype Train (because, apparently, it runs on coal like old style trains; go figure). All that, and we haven't had a clue what it's been about.

Epic did that cunning PRtastic thing where they didn't tell us a damn thing about Paragon. Not even its genre. Said trailers were just reveals of playable characters, all of whom looked pretty space marine-y to me. This generated much more interest and discussion than a plain ol' ogle at the game likely would have.

From what we had to go on, many of us expected another Destiny/Titanfall-flavored futuristic FPS. We were wrong. At the recent PlayStation Experience, it was time to drop all the enigmatic dicking around and showcase some gameplay. Like Marilyn Monroe over that grate, Paragon's dress has finally blown over its shoulders and we've seen all it's got to offer. This is a third-person MOBA (think Smite, kinda sorta), right here.
