One of the main reasons my mother was fine with me reading Daredevil as a youngin' was the character's Catholicism. It wasn't overt, mind you, I never felt like I was being preached to, but I understand where his value system came from and how he got to be the hero he was thanks to its foundation.

The folks behind Netflix's very good live action adaptation of Daredevil have really leaned into the character's religious beliefs, making it no surprise to find Matt Murdock in confession in this teaser for the show's third season. It's what he says, however, that may shock you...

"I'd rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock."

But gruffer. A lot gruffer, gotta cover up that English accent.

Anyway, seems Murdock's alive and angry with God, as per usual. Apparently the second season of Iron Fist, which debuted several hours ago, contains a teaser proving that Murdock survived his brush with Elektra at the end of The Defenders.

Or was brought back to life. Or something. This character's mythos contains so many resurrections and fake-out deaths that it's no wonder he's coming back. It remains to be seen what will become of these shows once Disney and Netflix part ways come the end of the year.

There's no official release date for Daredevil Season 3 yet, but expect it to come in late November or early December this year.
