Evan Rachel Wood now officially receives as much cash for her performance on the HBO rape fantasy series Westworld as her male co-stars, which begs the question - who was getting more than her previously? If Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, or God forbid James Marsden have a bigger draw than Wood's robo tits, I'm going to seriously doubt the taste of Westworld viewers.
Westworld was basically the product of HBO execs realizing that after Jason Momoa made rape cool again by assaulting Hot Tits Whatshername on Game of Thrones, they needed to expand their inventory. In order for the big budget masturbatory aid Westworld to succeed, HBO really needed to feature someone that everyone and their mom would want to destroy from the inside out, and thus, Wood's career revival was born. She recently opened up to The Wrap on being told that she would receive equal pay for her work in the series' third season (not the upcoming second season):
I think I’m just now to the point where I’m getting paid the same as my male co-stars. I was just told that, you know, ‘Hey you’re, you’re getting equal pay.’ And I almost got emotional. I was like, ‘I have never been paid the same as my male counterparts. Never, never.’
I’m very lucky. It’s more about if you’re getting paid fairly, or the same, or if you’re getting paid less simply because you’re a woman, that’s not fair. This is the first time that somebody made a point of being like, ‘Hey you’re getting this. And you deserve it.’ And that was nice.
Wait wait wait. Did she manage to talk about wage inequality without mentioning the time she was #MeThree!-ed and then Time's Up-ed and then murdered by a man? Wood seems like a chick who can legit hang. According to a 2016 article by Variety, the average salary for the cast of Westworld per episode is $175,000. That makes me want to #MeToo myself. But Wood is the undeniable draw for Westworld, so I guess of actors are going to make as much money as a doctor ten times over in a season, at least I want them to have perky tits. And that, I think, is today's takeaway.
