I hate when people start celebrating Red Nose Day early. Red Nose Day is May 26, a day designated to celebrate a photo of a white guy hugged by half a dozen starving African kids. Not an entire week like the manner in which we honor God or public school teachers. Red Nose Day is the offshoot of Comic Relief which used to air every year on HBO and featured standup comedians raising money for the small percentage of the population even more broke than most standup comedians. The event's moved to NBC. Somebody at Universal marketing came up with the tired red nose gimmick, but it's for a good cause. At least until the audits are completed.

Like most benevolent social causes, Red Nose Day has become an excuse for B-movie actresses to post pictures of their tits. The ALS ice bucket challenge moved expediently from chuckling at grandpa for charity to buxom social media celebrities in see-through t-shirts. The lowest form of charity is that where the donor seeks public recognition for their gifts. It's also where you find the big money. Libraries and hospitals and parks have to have some name. Don your Red Nose and give twenty bucks. Don't claim you don't waste money for no good reason. You're going to see X-Men this weekend.
