If NASCAR fans think that the Coca Cola 600 is an endurance test they should take a look at the LeMans 24 Hours Race. Call it a hunch, but I'm pretty sure that these guys cover a lot more than 600 miles as they race for an entire day (the current record is 3,360 miles)!
Since 1923 race teams have descended onto the French town of LeMans to see if they and their car have what it takes to endure the grind that goes with racing at high speeds for 24 hours. Just being good at driving at high speeds is not enough; you have to have the endurance to last for hours and hours as well.
Of course when you race for that long there are bound to be just a few crashes along the way. The one in the above video occurred about five hours into the race. Amazingly the driver of the car that did flips (Anthony Davidson) was not seriously hurt.
