We all knew that sooner or later, Disney was going to get around to doing another Mary Poppins, and I guess we can thank our lucky stars they decided to do it right in that window when the perfect person for the role—Emily Blunt—was willing and available. The British brunette beauty headlines this December's Mary Poppins Returns, stepping into the Oscar-winning shoes of Julie Andrews as the title nanny.
Set thirty years after the original film, Mary Poppins Returns finds the magical character coming back into the lives of the now grown up Michael and Jane Banks (Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer) to help them in the wake of a family tragedy. Also along for the ride is Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, Oscar winners Colin Firth and Meryl Streep, and Tai Cheng enthusiast—and co-star of the original Mary Poppins—Dick Van Dyke

Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.
Mary Poppins Returns hits theaters on December 19. Fingers crossed The Simpsons does "Shary Bobbins Returns" around the same time, though I think she was sucked into a jet engine at the end of that episode...
