There's no doubt about it. Ryan Reynolds is one of Hollywood's most sought-after male stars. He's great for comedic roles and makes a fantastic leading man for rom-coms, but as Reynolds has proved in Blade: Trinity and Green Lantern.
Reynolds' skills, prowess, and on-screen presence are probably only some of the reasons why Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment is eyeing him to take on the role of Connor MacLeod in Highlander.
Nothing has been set in stone yet as no official offers have been reported yet, but inside sources tell Varietythat the studio is in talks with Reynolds' camp about the role in question. The source adds that both sides are "very interested" in working with each other.
After centuries of dueling to survive against others like him, Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his kind, a murderously brutal barbarian, who lusts for the Prize.
What has been confirmed is that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will be directing the Highlander reboot, with Neal Moritz, Peter Davis, Enrique López Lavigne, and Belen Atienza producing the film through Moritz's Original Film banner.
