Hearkening back to the mid-90s when superhero movies had torch ballads sung by the likes of Taylor Dayne, R. Kelly, and Seal, this new music video for "Ashes" by Celine Dion off the Deadpool 2 soundtrack will make you wistful for that bygone era...

Until Deadpool shows up in heels to kick things into a whole other level. Never afraid to take the piss out of anything at all, Deadpool's music video—which appears to have been shot on the set of Celine's Vegas Spectacular—is parodying a niche within a niche, and it's glorious.

Like I've said many times, the marketing campaign for this film has been brilliant. Yes, it's disappointing that they've been giving away far too much recently, especially when the early campaign was built around blatant non-reveals, but moves like this prove that the team behind selling this film to the public is doing a bang up job.

Honestly, I'm more excited about Deadpool 2 than either of the blockbusters book-ending it—Infinity War and Solo—so at this point I'm glad they moved its release up. Though it will make me sad that the ad campaign will come to an end at that time, which is two weeks from today when Deadpool 2 hits theaters.
