It's been 10 years since The X-Files was taken off our screens. It's been been 14 years since its first movie was released to a mild response. And it's been 48 months since The X-Files : I Want To Believe was unleashed and then instantly forgotten about too.

That should have been it for this sci-fi series. A pretty impressive showing for a franchise that began its life as a mild-mannered television show and progressed to become a bona-fide pop culture phenomenon.

But it seems like David Duchovny is trying to rejuvenate the tale of Mulder and Scully for a third movie but if it fails then there is a good chance that it will be one of the worst trilogies ever released. Here would be its rivals for this illustrious crown.
