If you believe, as I do, that the James Bond movies now follow the "every other movie is great" formula that used to plague the Star Trek series, you'll be happy to hear that Daniel Craig will be returning for one final 007 adventure which will hopefully redeem the top to bottom mediocrity that was Spectre.
According to The Mirror, Craig is ready to return to the franchise for one final go-around, but that's not the only sign that the producers are trying to recapture lightning in a bottle. The other persistent rumor is that they're bringing Adele back to sing the theme song, a tactic that worked great for Skyfall and that would make her the first chanteuse since Shirley Bassey to sing more than one Bond theme song. Take all of this with a grain of salt, of course, but here's the direct quote from the article...
A source involved in the project said: “Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong con–sensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive.”
Screenwriter John Logan—who penned both Skyfall and Spectre—is also rumored to be back on board as well. Should Craig return for a fifth turn as Bond, it will put him ahead of Pierce Brosnan who played the super spy in four films. Of course we'll keep you up to date with the latest info as it comes in.
